There are many good reasons to pursue therapy. Some people need to process a specific issue, relationship, or trauma in their life and others are looking for specific strategies to manage their anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues. In Ann’s experience, most are wanting a listening ear, an open mind, a reminder of strengths, help in discovering a new perspective, a challenge to change, and most often, just a path forward. Whatever the reason, Ann understands the decision to seek therapy often comes with mixed emotions. It is both vulnerable and courageous to trust another person with personal and difficult life experiences.

Ann has been a Licensed Psychologist for over twenty-five years. She attended her undergraduate program at Concordia College in Moorhead and received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of St. Thomas. She realizes that her education provided rich and important learning opportunities, but the foundation of her expertise has been gained by coming alongside people as they face their own life issues and challenges.

Ann had worked with clients in all stages of life and a variety of specialties, including individuals and couples in therapy, elementary through high school students in two private schools, adoptive families, and conducting ADHD assessments for individuals throughout the life span.

Her specialties are in the areas of anxiety, depression, adjustments issues, life changes, grief, relationships issues, trauma, and the assessment and treatment of ADHD. She has been trained in EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, ADHD, Grief, and Loss, and is a Daring Way Facilitator using the work of Brene Brown.

Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.
